Material Review Process
What Materials Must be Submitted?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requires that an
HIV/AIDS Material Review Panel approve all HIV/AIDS
educational material purchased or developed with federal
monies prior to use. This applies to material used by staff
supported with CDC monies. Educational material include:
1. Written
2. Pictorials
3. Audiovisuals
4. Questionnaires, survey instruments, and client
satisfaction surveys
5. Conference agendas
6. Educational session plans
7. World Wide Web pages
World Wide Web pages must display a content notice. The
notice informs web users the type of information they may
encounter on your site that provides educational information
on HIV/AIDS. This applies to all websites funded in part or
completely with CDC funds. Web site approval must occur
prior to public viewing activation. Call Frank E. Hayes at
360-236-3486 if you would like sample content language.
